Neon Pastoral

A dreamy, synth-laced indie folk journey through imagined landscapes and analog nostalgia.
Mossglow is a three-piece indie collective formed in 2023 in Portland, Oregon. The group—comprised of synth wizard Lila Wren, folk guitarist Jonah Pike, and ambient producer Kavi Sinha—blends analog textures with modern dream pop and folk sensibilities. Their name reflects their core aesthetic: organic beauty illuminated by unexpected color.
They self-produce all their work in a repurposed greenhouse studio in the Willamette Valley, recording most of their sounds live with vintage equipment and modular synths.
Neon Pastoral is Mossglow’s debut album, a concept piece that explores the tension between memory and imagination, nature and nostalgia. Each track evokes a place that doesn’t exist—a “pastoral future” where analog warmth and digital echoes co-exist. The album moves from tender acoustic ballads layered with synth pads to rhythmic, pulsing soundscapes that flirt with ambient techno.
Interesting Facts:
- The track “Static Meadow” samples a field recording of bees from a lavender farm in rural Oregon, run by Wren’s aunt.
- The band only used tape machines for the final mixdown, refusing to do any digital mastering.
- The album artwork was generated based on dreams described in a shared band journal and interpreted by an AI.
- Despite being their debut, Neon Pastoral was named one of Under Current’s “Top 10 Under Radar Albums of 2025.”
